Come join us for three days and nights of inspirational whirling, poetry, and devotional music.
We invite seekers of all paths to gather and share their music and prayers.
Let us come together to reclaim our primordial unity, and experience its unveiling through the way of Sema!
In these times of confusion, where the illusion of separateness threatens our world, We are very excited and humbled to be bringing this sacred tradition of prayer to the home of universalist spirituality in the west.
We will begin in the dome with an introduction to this practice, opening of the Sema space (meydan), and whirling to the live music. By turning, we empty ourselves and join with the spiral of life, through which everything is continuously brought into existence. This prayer will extend out of the dome, as we will be working together on all aspects of community living to keep the prayer going. In this journey toward the One, we will aim to love and serve each other in deeper ways. For truly, “whichever way you turn there is the face of God”.
In the garden where Murshid Sam’s seeds have sprouted and blossomed, let us each plant the seeds of our divine calling, and tend to our common garden. Let us listen! And perhaps we may hear the subtle sound of a new way emerging from the seed casing of the old tradition.
It is our prayer to gather the wayfarers of the different paths of sufism that have taken hold on turtle island, and strengthen our bonds of community. Because if we don’t come together as wayfarers of One Love, how can we expect the rest of the world to do so? For the sake of all the illuminated souls who have prayed on this land, and for the sake of all who have dedicated their lives in history for this tradition to reach Lama, may our Sema be for Truth and for Oneness, Hu!
The expenses for this prayer ritual will be collected through a donation basis. No one is turned away for a lack of funds.

Yunus Cem Ozbek was born into centuries of Bektashi lineage lost after his great-grandfather’s martyrdom, Yunus carries a deep longing to retrieve the ways of belonging of his ancestors, the ways where belonging was created amongst people through the experiences of war and displacement. It is a dream to co-create a world where it is easier to love. To love ourselves, to love each other, to love the land that nourishes us and to love our Source. It is his life’s purpose to imbue what he can receive from the past with the needs of our time, and struggle to provide those who are coming afterwards facilities which he wasn’t able to have. He believes that a greater body of Interspiritual community is not only possible but is a primary need for us, and most importantly for the youth that is up and coming. He is a servant to the womb for those who are coming to grow for they are the ones with the destiny to bring forth the realities for what is possible in a future beyond the civilizational collapse we are experiencing.
All spiritual tools are for the human. Human is the secret of God and God is the secret of the human. Let us connect to each other as we wayfare to our own essence. First friends on the path and then the path inshallah
