Mirabai Starr is an award-winning author of creative non-fiction and contemporary translations of sacred literature. She taught Philosophy and World Religions at the University of New Mexico-Taos for 20 years and now teaches and speaks internationally on contemplative practice and inter-spiritual dialog. A certified bereavement counselor, Mirabai helps mourners harness the transformational power of loss. Her latest book, WILD MERCY: Living the Fierce & Tender Wisdom of the Women Mystics, was named one of the “Best Books of 2019”. She lives with her extended family in the mountains of northern New Mexico.

Mona Haydar is a Syrian-American writer, hip-hop artist, and chaplain whose work bridges spirituality, social justice, and creative expression. She began her artistic journey as a poet, later expanding into music, healing work, and public speaking.

Mona spent two years immersed in intentional community at the Lama Foundation before earning her master’s degree in Social Ethics from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. While in New York, she served as a chaplain at NYU and released her breakout single, “Wrap My Hijab,” a global anthem of self-love and empowerment that has resonated with millions.

Since then, she has released both an EP and an LP of original music, hosted PBS’ The Great Muslim American Road Trip, and led performances and workshops across the U.S. and internationally. A passionate advocate for decolonization—both of the world and the mind—Mona continues to work with individuals and communities to cultivate healing, creativity, and meaningful change.
