The Bear Hermitage is reserved for people on hermitage and is not available as a normal housing option. Nestled in a glade of scrub oak on the site of a former moon lodge, the Bear Hermitage is a straw bale vault designed and built by Women Build Houses under the loving guidance of Shay Salomon.

- The Bear Hermitage is reserved for people doing hermitage. It is about a 15 minute walk from the community center and feels very secluded. It has a queen size bed and a simple propane stove, but no electricity.
