THE LAMA FOUNDATION LIBRARY OF ORAL HISTORY AND MEMORY

In July of 2005 the Lama Council blessed the creation of an oral history library to collect and maintain histories of Lama from former residents, teachers, and others associated with the Lama Foundation.
In August of 2007 both the Oral History Advisory Board and the Lama Foundation Board approved the University of New Mexico's Center for Southwest Research as the primary archive for interviews and transcripts. A subsidiary library will also be established in Hondo, New Mexico, ten miles from the Foundation, at the office of Jai Cross, presently Chair of the Lama Foundation Board. That library will receive and store copies of materials archived at the University. Hondo is located near the Lama Foundation.
Transcripts and oral interviews will be available subject to the policies and procedures of each of the libraries. Email addresses of the two archives will be available in the near future. At the present time, interview release forms must be obtained before interviews are available for listening and viewing by researchers.
A quarterly report is sent to contributors and others associated with this work. For more detailed information about the status of the work program, interviews and transcripts completed, and other information, follow the links to quarterly reports below:
