Natural Building Apprenticeship 2007
Program Schedule

Daily schedule (still subject to change):
Morning sit (optional)
7 am breakfast
8 am “practice and tuning” meeting (expected)
9 am apprenticeship class
12:30 pm lunch
1:45 (or thereabouts) apprenticeship class
4:30 (or thereabouts) finish class. This time may vary.
5:30 pm dinner
7:00 pm community evening program (sometimes)

Each week, the class will meet for 5 days (or so), with 2 days off. We are still fine tuning the schedule, and will make that available when we have it ready. Your days off are entirely yours, and you are welcome to relax at Lama, visit nearby Taos or other great places, etc.

Outside of class time, there are a few more community expectations on your time, cooking/cleaning chores and some community meetings. Creating community together takes a bit of everyone’s day, but we believe that the results are well worth the time and effort. Nevertheless, most of your evenings will be free as well as your 2 days off each week, so there is still lots of personal time in the schedule.

General Course Schedule
If you wish to arrive earlier than the start date (June 1), or stay later than the program end (July 10), please make arrangements with Austin; there will be a nominal daily fee.

The general schedule is arrival on June 1st, orientation on June 2nd, and "hands-on starting June 3rd. The course will focus on building a small load-bearing straw bail structure under the guidance of skilled teachers, from foundation to finish plaster. Both classroom time and hands-on time will be offered.
