General Overview of Lama Foundation, p.2 < Previous page..............................Next page >
Why do people come up the mountain? Many have a desire to pursue personal spiritual practice as well as group spiritual practices. Many have come to Lama for the experience of “sangha” or “community”, for living amongst friends and for a supportive environment conducive to daily practice and remembrance. Many have come up to “unplug” from fast-paced lives and relax in the deep stillness and peace of Lama’s rustic surroundings.
In the recent years, some of the prominent spiritual practices have been meditation, yoga, Japanese tea ceremony, art and writing, Dances of Universal Peace, and practices in the traditions of Hinduism, Sufism, Christianity, Native American spirituality and Judaism. The current spiritual practices at Lama are a reflection of the personal practices of the resident circle as well as summer stewards. We encourage summer stewards to bring and offer their own practices to the community, and so each summer becomes a unique forum as each heart offers its divine presence. < Previous page..............................Next page > |
