Facilities
Lama Foundation has maintained a simple, rustic lifestyle for over 35 years. We offer an opportunity to un-plug from the buzzzzz of one's busy life and feel our beloved Earth beneath one’s feet while bathing in profound mountain quietude. IMPORTANT! Water and electricity are sacred commodities at Lama. Our water comes from a pristine mountain spring, and our electricity comes from the sun. We enjoy many modern conveniences on the mountain, but our water and electricity are limited compared to those “on the grid”, and we ask that all treat these valuable resources consciously, and with reserve. Further, we are unable to use electrical heating appliances such as hair dryers, curling irons and toasters.
We accommodate retreats of up to 125 people, though typical retreats are considerably more intimate. We have a modern kitchen and each day we offer three vegetarian meals prepared lovingly from scratch, snacks, and a wide assortment of coffee and teas. Most people sleep in our tenting area. A good waterproof tent is essential, as is a sleeping bag good to 40 degrees F. We have limited dormitory space available by reservations in yurts furnished with mattresses; please bring your own bedding or sleeping bag. There are limited car camping spaces as well (no fee), available by reservation. An information letter containing more specifics and recommendations concerning equipment and clothing will be sent to you once you register for a program. For exceptional circumstances, such as a disability, medical condition, or special dietary needs, please contact us to determine if special accommodations can be arranged. We do our best to accommodate any reasonable request. |
