The walls were earth-plastered, natch, led by Cedar Rose. She's applying a clay slip coat with a hopper gun in this photo.

Note that the interior shot below shows only the slip-coat, not the final plaster.


Alfred von Bachmayr demonstrated a straw-clay mixing machine. The back wall of the greenhouse is to be infilled with straw-clay tamped into forms; a traditional technique in Germany and other places. Alas, the greenhouse framing wasn't finished by the end of the week, so we weren't able to do the formwork.
