SUFI SESSHIN
A
Meditation, Dance and Zikr Retreat
With Pir Shabda Kahn & Darvesha
Victoria MacDonald
August 15th - August 19th
Cost: $375
"The Dances of Universal Peace and Zikr are an
excellent way to prepare for meditation and meditation is an excellent
way to prepare for the Dances of
Universal Peace and Zikr." ~Murshid Samuel Lewis
At Lama Foundation, the resting place of Murshid Samuel
Lewis, we will alternate between Silent Meditation, Zikr, and Dances of
Universal Peace, combining the power and resonance of the Zikr/Dance Circle
with the profound calm and abiding insight of the meditative state. Woven
into the retreat, the teachings and transmissions of Hazrat Inayat Khan
and Murshid Samuel Lewis will aide us in achieving a joyful presence.

Pir Shabda Kahn
began his root training in the Sufi lineage of Pir-o-Murshid Hazrat
Inayat Khan beginning in 1969, as a disciple of Murshid Samuel Lewis.
Since 2001, Shabda is serving as the Pir (spiritual director) of the
Sufi Ruhaniat International. In 1972 Shabda met his second great teacher,
the late Master Singer, Pandit Pran Nath, and began the daily practice
of North Indian classical music in the Kirana style. He now teaches
vocal music and performs Raga singing and is the director of the Chisti
Sabri School of Music. He has also worked closely with the great American
Mystic Joe Miller and is a disciple of the illustrious Tibetan Buddhist
Master, the 12th Tai Situpa Rinpoche. Shabda brings warmth, humor,
and clarity in his efforts to help seekers on their own personal Path
to Awakening.

Sheikha
Darvesha Victoria MacDonald is a senior teacher of
the Sufi Ruhaniat International. She has been a student of Buddhism
for over 30 years and guides groups in meditation, deep ecology, sensory
and movement awareness, and the Dances of Universal Peace. It was
her love of nature that led her in the early 80’s to the Himalaya,
where she encountered Buddhadharma and received teachings on Interdependence.
Since that time, she has dedicated her life to helping others realize
that all beings are interconnected, and that a life dedicated to the
service of the Whole is in our own best interest and what makes us
happy.
