PERMACULTURE DESIGN & CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Led by Scott Pittman and the Permaculture Institute
June 10 –25, Cost: $1,450
“Though the problems of the world are increasingly more complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple....”
-Bill Mollison

Founded by Scott Pittman, the Permaculture Institute offers Permaculture Design Certification based on the original material developed by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren. Their mission is to promote sustainable living skills through education, networking and demonstration projects. There was concern on the part of founders Bill Mollison and Scott Pittman that over time permaculture maintain its integrity as the primary educator and promoter of sustainable design. There has been pressure over the years to change the curriculum and pedagogy of the Permaculture Design Course to attract more mainstream participants with a less rigorous offering; the Permaculture Institute has resisted such a dilution of purpose.
Participants that attend all sessions of this class and complete the final design project will receive a Certificate of Permaculture Design, as originally envisioned by Mollison and Holmgren. For a detailed syllabus and more information on the course and the teaching team, please visit www.permaculture.org.
Participants are invited to attend the Permaculture Practicum from June 26 to July 1 after the Design Certification. Participation in both programs is offered at the reduced rate of $1,970 total.
Lama Foundation's regular and special events, including daily meditation and vegetarian meals, are included. Participants are expected to bring their own tents and camp on the earth. The vistas and networks of the Carson National Forest are at your doorstep.
