Community Camp 2008
Practicing Community
With Asha Greer, Mary Kenney and others
Sunday, June 1-Saturday, June 7
Cost: $150-$300 Sliding Scale

This summer's community camp offers a very special opportunity for participants to dive into community life at Lama with the added spice of offerings and practices from founder Asha Greer, long-time resident Mary Kenney and other visiting teachers who will join us to lead daily talks on the practice of community. The offerings will include perspectives and voices from many different spiritual paths. Lama Foundation, as one of the longest-lasting intentional communities in the United States, provides an excellent setting for hands-on learning of the many lessons community has to offer.

Eat, dance, play and pray...work, cook, garden and build...meditate in the prayer room, celebrate with dawn and evening Zikr and other mantra practices.

This week-long event , facilitated by the Lama staff, is a wonderful time to enter into the flow of life of the Lama community circle. The usual Lama schedule is served...heart club, daily practice and tuning, with offerings all day long as well as space for personal time on the mountain. Participants will be invited to join; embracing the rhythms of meditations, prayer and practices, Dances of Universal Peace, singing and karma yoga work projects.

Mary Kenney's love of Lama comes from "being continually cooked"  as a resident being , coordinator, continuing member and former Trustee of the Board.   She is a dedicated student of traditional Sufism who is currently living in California with her family serving as a hospice caregiver.

Asha Greer is a founding member of the Lama Foundation, a grandmother, a nurse, a painter, a senior Ruhaniat teacher, and likes to fill the full with empty in order to make more room.
